Audition 2022
The Basel Dance Academy and Company jr. have been educating and promoting young talents since 15 yrs.
With a success quota of +80 % our graduates have achieved professional levels not only in dance, but in musical theater and theater. Some have opened their own schools, and have become renowned choreographers and even founded their own companies. Some after their dance careers ,because of our unique collaboration with the departments of education in the cantons of Basel, Baselland and Jura have gone on to study and are now architects, chemists and criminologists.
We are the only academy in Switzerland to share a 15 year partnership with a professional theater, where we perform on a regular basis with at least 6 performances yearly. As well, our guest choreographers are soloists of the Ballett Basel , i.e. Sol Bilbao, Frank Pedersen, Javier Cobos and our former choreographers , such as Kinsun Chan, Felix Dumeril or Raimondo Rebeck, directors of professional companies.
Our graduates have gone directly from the BDA to join companies as soloists, ensemble dancers and junior company members.
We have collaborated with the Karlsruhe Ballet and Ballet du Rhin several times.
Our next production is a creation from Andrei Medeiros.
